The
Chinese Premier, Mr. Wen Jiabao, received
a tumultuous welcome when he arrived at the Kotoka International
Airport in Accra on the 18th of June 2006 to begin a
two-day historical visit to Ghana.
Accompanied by a 110-member delegation, including some
ministers, Mr. Jiabao was given a warm handshake by
President J. A. Kufour and his vice, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
A number of ministers and high government officials
were also at the airport to welcome him. After he had
interacted with some Ghanaian and Chinese personalities
at the airport, he was driven in a black Limousine Benz
to the Castle, Osu, for bilateral talks.
