TYPICAL CLEAR CHANNEL NETWORKS (Single branch to Central
office)
The
network diagram below shows a Clear channel Single
branch to Central office connection. An n x 64kbps
synchronous data channel originating from the Remote
branch office on data port one (CH1) is mapped onto
n timeslots of the main E1 link. The n x 64kbps
data channel is routed through the E1 network to
the Central office, terminating on the assigned
data port on the corresponding TDM mux.

fig.2:Single branch to central office
Multi-branch to Central Office
This type of Clear Channel connectivity
is used for connecting more than one Remote branch
to the Central office using Integrated Access Device
(IAD). The n x 64kbps data channels originating
from the remote branches are routed over the E1
network backbone of the Service Provider in dedicated
timeslots. The aggregated data (fractional E1) terminates
into an IAD located at the Central office.
A data channel originating from a particular Remote
Branch office has a corresponding data port on the
IAD. Dedicated time slots are mapped onto these
data ports to provide point-to-point, dedicated
leased data circuits between the Central office
and each of the remote offices. Refer to fig. 6
below. The data ports available on the TDM mux and
the IAD equipment can be the following interfaces
V35, X21, RS530 and G703 balanced 120.
